Match your repair

Small height correction on an already fully engaged wooden drawer using matching Blum MOVENTO front locking devices with height-adjustment tabs. The pictured front sits low and rubs the drawer below. No side, tilt, depth or cabinet-runner repositioning.

Safety and stop conditions

  • Drawer must already be securely engaged with both runners; otherwise use the reseating procedure.
  • Do not hold a loaded drawer or place fingers between moving runners.
  • No loosening of cabinet runner screws or reshaping of hardware; stop for broken locks or bent rails.

Tools and materials

  • Matching MOVENTO instructions
  • Ruler or gap reference
  • No adjustment tool required for the shown tabs

Before you start

  • This is for a low front rubbing the front underneath, not a drawer that is loose on its runners.
  • If the fronts are high enough but rub at one side, use the correct model-specific lateral procedure instead.

Repair steps

  1. Confirm the drawer hardware

Empty the drawer and confirm it uses the Blum MOVENTO locking devices shown. Both sides must already be engaged. A loose or partly detached drawer needs reseating before alignment.

  2. Compare the front gaps

Close the drawer gently and compare the gaps above and below its front. This example sits too low and rubs the front underneath. Check for trapped objects before adjusting anything.

  3. Find the height tabs

Open the drawer. Under each front corner, locate the height-adjustment tab. Do not squeeze the orange release levers; those disconnect the drawer from its runners instead of changing its height.

  4. Raise the low side

Press the height tab upward and slide it toward the back of the drawer to raise that side. Make a small change; the shown mechanism allows up to three millimeters of lift.

  5. Level and recheck

Adjust the other side as needed to level the front. Close gently, compare the gaps, and repeat in small amounts. Stop if the available travel cannot create adequate clearance.

  6. Test before refilling

Open and close the empty drawer several times. The front should clear its neighbors and both runners should move together. Persistent binding, loose attachments, or damaged hardware needs a separate repair.

Check the result

  • Check smooth travel and clearance with the drawer empty.
  • Verify both sides move together and the drawer remains attached before replacing contents.

Common questions

Can I use this for side-mounted ball-bearing slides?

No. It is specific to matching Blum MOVENTO locking devices and their height tabs.

How far can I raise the front?

The pictured MOVENTO mechanism allows up to 3 mm. If that does not resolve the rub, investigate fit and installation rather than forcing it.

Is the orange lever the height adjuster?

No. The orange release lever disconnects the drawer. Match the separate height tab shown in the instructions.
