Match your repair
An empty wooden drawer on matching Blum MOVENTO concealed runners and intact front locking devices, with a known reseating issue. Excludes damaged runners, broken locking devices, electric SERVO-DRIVE, and drawers too large or heavy to support safely.
Safety and stop conditions
- Support the empty drawer before releasing both locks; use help for heavy or oversized drawers.
- No forcing stuck locks, bent rails or rear hooks; no fingers in sliding rail gaps.
- Do not reload a drawer with either lock unengaged.
Tools and materials
- Matching MOVENTO instructions
- Clear, stable surface for the removed drawer
- A second person if the drawer cannot be safely supported alone
Before you start
- A drawer that is not engaged with a runner needs correct removal/reinsertion before cosmetic front alignment.
- A broken lock or bent runner will not be repaired by reseating.
Repair steps
Empty and support
Empty the drawer and open it fully. Match the Blum MOVENTO locking devices shown. Support the drawer’s weight; get help if it is large or heavy, and keep fingers clear of the runners.
Release both front locks
Under the front corners, squeeze both orange release levers. While supporting the drawer, pull it forward and then lift it clear. Do not yank one side or force a stuck mechanism.
Inspect the contact points
Set the drawer on a stable surface. Check the runners, locking devices, and rear locating holes for damage or obstructions. Remove loose debris only; stop for bent rails or broken parts.
Extend and position
Pull both runners fully forward. Keep them parallel, then lower the drawer squarely onto them in its normal position. The drawer must sit evenly on both sides before you push it closed.
Engage the locks
Push the drawer closed evenly. On this system, the front locking devices engage automatically. If it resists or stays uneven, stop and check placement instead of slamming it into position.
Verify the attachment
Reopen the drawer and confirm that both locking devices are engaged and both runners move with it. Test smooth travel while empty. If either side remains loose, stop before adding weight.
Check the result
- Both locking devices visibly engage and both runners follow the empty drawer.
- Travel is smooth and stable through repeated open/close movements.
Common questions
Can I use this on any drawer slide?
No. Release mechanisms vary. This sequence applies only to the matching MOVENTO concealed runners and front locking devices shown.
Should I slam it until it clicks?
No. Resistance or uneven seating means stop and check alignment or damage.
Should I adjust the drawer front at the same time?
Reseat and verify attachment first. If the secure drawer’s front still rubs, use the separate model-specific alignment guide.
